Rutland- Mary E. Haven, 87 of Rutland died August 22, 2025 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center
She was born May 2nd 1938 in Rutland the daughter of Theodore V. and Loretta ( Pano ) Godfrey.
Mary was raised in Ludlow, attending local schools, graduating from Black River HS. in 1955 In high school she was active in Varsity Sports and cheerleading.
She married John F. Haven in 1958
Mary loved the outdoors, deer hunting, gardening, flowers and wildlife.
She was employed in the banking field with Rutland County Bank, Rutland National, Howard Bank, First Vermont Bank and Bank North. Retiring in 1990 following 35 years of service. Following retirement, she was a legal secretary in the area, working for Attorney Chris Webber Jr. retiring following 25 years at the age of 80.
Served on many community projects, including, Community Chest, United Way, and Salvation Army.
Survived by, sons John F. Haven Jr.( Adrienne Carter ) Micah B. Haven, ( Diane ) of Rutland, 6 grandchildren Lindsey Talarico, Karly Haven, Elly Haven, Shane Haven, Ashley Chica and Matthew Haven.and 8 great grandchildren
Predeceased by parents, husband John Haven Sr in 2008 and siblings Theodore and Particia.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm Saturday Sep 6, 2025 in the Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Italian Aide 415 West Street, Rutland, VT.
Arrangements are with the Aldous Funeral Home.
Memorials may be to the Alzheimer's association or to the Humane Society.
