Mary Evelyn Hilker, age 84, of McCook, NE passed away on Wednesday, August, 26, 2020 at Hillcrest A Caring Center in McCook.
Evelyn was born February 5, 1936 in Stockville, NE to parents George Vernon and Georgia Alice (Brush) Halley. She was one of four siblings. Evelyn grew up in the Stockville community where she also attended school.
Evelyn later moved to the McCook community where she was employed by Community Hospital. Evelyn was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being with her family and her hobbies included quilt making, being outside working in her garden and flower beds, as well as collecting rocks.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Alice Halley; sister, Carol Walther; and brother in law; Howard Chambers.
Those left to celebrate her life include her three sons, Bob (Connie) Hilker of Lincoln, NE, Kent (Lori) Hilker and Dean (Rhonda) Hilker, all of McCook; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, George (Janice) Halley of North Platte, NE, sister, Doris Chambers of Cambridge, NE; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
