Mary Helen Hollenkamp, age 92 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mary Helen was born on April 18, 1932 in Salem, the daughter of Woodrow Albert "Abe" and Goldie (Powless) Myers. She married Bud Hollenkamp on September 17, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carlyle and after 43 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on February 24, 2004.
She is survived by four children, Tara Pruden and husband John, Lori Pokojski and husband Dennis, Bret Hollenkamp and wife Lori, and Brad Hollenkamp and wife Kathy all of Salem; grandchildren, Kati Stroup, Eric Hollenkamp and wife Lindsey, Kyle Pruden, Bryce Rankin, Kory Pruden and wife Ali, Blake Hollenkamp and wife Myka, Cali Rankin, Anna Pokojski, Aleece Pokojski and Macy Hollenkamp; great grandchildren, Haylee, Rylee, Beau & Maren, Payven, Pacer, and Paxy, and Benson, Ivy, and Gwyndolin, and Cameron, Hayden and Elijah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Richard Myers, Jerry Myers, and Donald Myers; and a great-granddaughter, Marie Tucker.
Mary Helen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life, in her early years, she worked for the Salem Times-Commoner and in her later years, worked for Scissors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
A Memorial Service for Mary Helen Hollenkamp will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Mike Knapp officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held in East Lawn Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Salem Little League and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
