Mary Helen Wilkey Honeycutt, age 88 of Burnsville, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, August 25,2025. She was born on December 28, 1938, in the small town of Dayton, TN, to the late Homer and Daisy (Clark) Wilkey; In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Grover Honeycutt, who passed away on August 30, 2022; her sisters: Jennie Ruth Briscoe, Nellie Joyce Welcher, and Edith Layne; brother, Carl Wesley Wilkey; brother-in-laws: Maxwell Briscoe, Albert (Leo) Farrington, and Hobart (Joe) Layne.

Mary was employed by the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Michigan where she was a proud member of the 25-year club and where she made many lifelong friends. Upon retiring she and her husband moved to Burnsville where they made their home for 35 years. Helen was a devoted mother to Lisa Marie Honeycutt, a beloved grandmother to Josh (Richelle Stonerock) and Zachary Wentworth (Lindsey Mosher), and loving great grandmother to Riley Wentworth and another expected great granddaughter in September.

She is survived by two sisters, Betty Farrington and Charolette Norton (Howard); brother-in-law, Merle Welcher, and sister-in-law, Janice Wilkey. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Honeycutt family.
