George Sanford Honeycutt, 80, of Sanford passed away on Sunday August 31, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 4th at First Baptist Church at 3:00pm. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30-2:45pm before the service.
George was the son of the late George Gline Honeycutt and Ruby Pope Honeycutt. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and received a Purple Heart for his acts during his service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roland Palmer SS Class and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife Brenda T. Honeycutt; son Chris Honeycutt and wife Marshelle; daughter Jennifer Honeycutt Price and husband Jason; granddaughters Kayla Gonzalez and husband Jose and Gillian Walter.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
