Mary Lou Hopp
Mary Lou Hopp passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023in Colville, Washington. Mary Lou was born December 21, 1926 in Larene, Washington to Ivy and Chester Long.
She attended grade school and graduated high school at Davenport. Mary then attended Kinman Business School where she was offered a bookkeeping job for the Lincoln Electric in Davenport. Mary Lou married Daniel Hopp on February 17, 1946 and the couple made their home on the farm at Lamona, Washington. They purchased the farm land in the Colville Valley in 1950 but didn't move there until 1952. They had a daughter and two sons.
Mary Lou enjoyed sewing, quilting and growing a garden. She especially enjoyed the flower garden. She also China painted for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Hopp, daughter, Francine Hopp and son Elden Hopp.
Mary Lou was survived by her son, Marvin Hopp, four grandchildren and five great grandsons.
Funeral services will start with a graveside service 10:00a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Washington. There will be memorial service 10:00a.m Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Colville, Washington.
