Mary Joann "Jo" Hubbard

Mary Joann "Jo" Hubbard, age 68, of Ripley, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. She was a self-employed bookkeeper and a member of the Clopton United Methodist Church.
Jo enjoyed many hobbies including gardening and refinishing and repurposing furniture. She also enjoyed raising mules and horses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hubbard; her parents, Carl and Louise Ray Pruitt and four siblings, Stella Chappell, Steve Blackwell, James Blackwell and Leona Emerson.
She is survived by her son, Jeremy Hubbard of Ripley; her loving partner, Johnny Leach of Ripley; five siblings, Fay (Ricki) Smith of Ripley, Danny (Debbie) Pruitt of Friendship, TN, Linnie Campbell of Covington, Susie (Pete) Cook of Mason and Rodney (Linda) Hester of Alabama; two nieces, three nephews, two granddaughters and six stepchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, November 21 at the funeral home. A celebration of life service following the burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Clopton United Methodist Church.
