Mary L. Huner

Mary L. Huner, age 92, of Quincy, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 6:58 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Mary was born May 2, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel and Florence Hayden Smith. She married Bill Lee Huner, Sr. on October 18, 1946 in Salem Evangelical Church of Christ, Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2005.
She worked as a hairstylist for over 30 years at the Quincy Mall.
She would always be attending her grandkids and great grandkids sporting events. She was their biggest fan and wouldn't miss a game for anything. Mary was always known for doing things for others before herself. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband. Mary enjoyed hosting family BBQ's as well.
Mary is survived by three children, Bill L. (Cheryl) Huner, Jr. of MI, Marlene Beaston of Las Vegas, NV, and Jill Williams of Quincy; four grandchildren, John Houghton, Wyatt Cole Huner, Stephanie Dunker, and Daniel Beaston; six great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Sue Irick, of Oklahoma; a brother, Sonny Smith, of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Judy Taylor, Tillie Redner, and Betty Jo Klossing, and five brothers, Charles, Jack, Larry, Goy, and Bob Smith.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
