Mary Katherine Hunton
A resident of Coconut Creek, Florida, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a long illness on February 17, 2025. Mary was 81 years old. She was born in Bay City, Texas the daughter of Stephen Bennett and Georgia Hancock.
Mary graduated from Spring Valley Sr. High School in New York, class of 1961. With her beautiful singing voice and love of music she participated in chorus and loved collecting records. Following graduation, she married the love of her life Dellwen Hunton from Demarest, New Jersey. They celebrated 63 years of marriage in August.
Dellwen and Mary settled in Coconut Creek Florida in 1966 where she began her career as a stay at home mom raising four children. She enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, bowling, and flea markets. Mary especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her beloved dog Lucy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Stephen Bennett and her sister Barbara Korelis. Surviving in addition to her husband, Dellwen Hunton, daughters Mindy Adams (Guy), Mary Trimboli (Frank), Pamela Collignon (Terry) and son Dellwen Hunton (Francislaine). Eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A private family remembrance service will be held at Sinai Memorial Chapels in Delray Beach on Tuesday February 25. Interment will be at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make contributions in her loving memory to Vitas Healthcare.
