Mary Jeffs

Mary Evelyn Jeffs, 83, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on November 14, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. She was born on December 12, 1941, in Freer, Texas, to Cecil and Neva Lee Woods Robertson. In 1947, she and her family moved to Gorman, Texas. Upon finishing high school, she married the love of her life, William F Jeffs Jr. on September 16, 1961, in Gorman, Texas. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church. She also worked in the deli of Brookshire’s in Eastland, Texas for many years, but her true joy was found in raising her kids, and attending many of her grandkid's activities.

Mary is survived by her son, Bud Jeffs and Amy of Gorman, her daughter, Terrye Nickels of Hawley, her grandchildren Tony Jeffs and Brandy, Corbin Jeffs and Tessa, and Cortney Jansa and Shane, her great-grandchildren, Grace Jansa, and Ryder Jansa, as well as her brother, Cecil, and her sisters Frances and Nelda.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, William, both of her parents, and her sisters Mozelle, and Patricia.

A funeral service will be held in Mary’s honor on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman, Texas. A visitation will be on Saturday prior to the services from 1:00 P.M.-2:30 P.M.
