Joyce Anne Jeffs

Joyce Anne Jeffs, age 83, died peacefully in her home on February 8, 2026. Her loving daughter was honored to hold her hand and comfort her as she passed.

After struggling with a number of health issues over the past two years, she was reunited with her son, brother, sister, and parents. We will remember her life, lived with immense love and a constant sense of caring.

Joyce was born on June 13, 1942, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Orson and Elizabeth Price. She was the second of eight children. At the age of 14, her family moved to West Valley City, Utah. She married Kenneth "Dick" Jeffs on July 5, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Sandy, Utah, where they raised their two beautiful children, Kenny and Alisa. Their two granddaughters, Kendra and Kylie, also had the privilege of living with them for many years and learned valuable life lessons.

Joyce served in many callings with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Relief Society President, Young Women leader, and Primary leader. She also served as a temple worker in both the Jordan River and Draper Temples. One of her favorite callings was serving as a Girls' Camp leader. The young women who had the privilege of camping with her will never forget begrudgingly waking up early each morning to her cheerfully singing "Rise and Shine." Above all, she loved serving others in need. Whether providing a meal, a loaf of bread, a plate of cookies, or simply a visit and a listening ear, she would do anything for anyone.

Describing her talents and achievements in a few paragraphs seems impossible. She truly could "do it all." If there was something she didn't know how to do, she would figure it out-without the help of Google or YouTube. Whether it was carpentry, plumbing, or repairing a broken appliance, she was always up for the challenge. She was a master seamstress who could sew or create anything. She leaves behind clothes, quilts, blankets, jewelry, holiday decorations, and countless other crafts. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, knitting, and painting. Her talents filled her home-and many others-with warmth and love through her handmade creations.

Joyce was our family's memory keeper. She captured our lives on film whenever she was present. As much as we sometimes protested and rolled our eyes, we now treasure the remarkable collection of photographs and home movies she preserved. We are forever grateful for the memories she saved for us.

Joyce was a beautiful dancer. She and Dick taught ballroom dancing for 35 years and served as assistant leaders on the general board for dance festivals in Latin ballroom. She especially loved the holidays, particularly Christmas. Her Christmas popcorn was one of the best gifts you could receive from her. She filled her home with decorations and always had Christmas treats ready. Even during her final Christmas, she was able to make candy to share with family and friends.

She and Dick enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years with family and friends, traveling to places such as Florida, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico. They also took many road trips throughout Utah and along the West Coast.

Joyce shared a very special bond with her sisters, Eva and Nancy, and cherished any time spent with them. She especially loved playing card games-and could usually beat them all.

In her final years, when her health robbed her of independence and strength, she taught us patience and allowed us to show her a small measure of the service she had long given to all of us.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth "Dick" Jeffs; her daughter, Alisa (Bob); her grandchildren: Corey (Sara), Jordan (Cindy), Kendra (Anthony), Kylie, and Alex (Addi); and her great-grandchildren: Mason, Sadie, Bentley, Summer, Kash, Parker, Cora, and Norah. She is also survived by her siblings: Margie (sister-in-law), Nancy (Ellis), Dwaine (Pat), Delwin (Suzanne), Eva (Blake), and David (Jill), along with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kenny; her sister, Cornelia; her brother, Dean; her parents, Orson and Elizabeth; and her grandson-in-law, Brian.

The family would like to thank her daughter, Alisa, for her constant and loving care over the past several years. They also express gratitude to Cedarwood Memory Care, Leigh Simpson, NP; Lindsay Hunter, MD; Utah Cancer Center; and Hospice for Utah.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joyce's life at the Amaryllis Ward meetinghouse, 949 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, February 13, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place Saturday, February 14, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:30–10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy.
