Visitation for Mary Jo Greiner will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Mary Jo (Ascheman) Greiner was born in Stevens County, Minnesota on October 13, 1960, to Richard and Margaret (DeWane) Ascheman. Mary was the youngest of six children and grew up in the small town of Donnelly. Mary went to elementary school in Donnelly until the 6th grade and then went to Morris High School. Mary received her degree in Accounting from NDSCS in 1997. Mary worked at numerous jobs over the years.
Not only was she accomplished in her schooling and work, she also was building a loving family. Mary married her husband, Gaylan Greiner, on January 5, 1991, at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota. She was blessed with four wonderful children and one wonderful step-daughter. Along with her love for family, Mary enjoyed knitting, sewing, and quilting in her free time. You could also find her out in nature on a good day hunting or fishing. Mary always had a love of animals, especially her dogs, cats and most of all her horses.
Mary died peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was 65 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Gaylan; children, Tyson (Carey) Giese, Cassandra (Seth) Sinnenna, Luke Giese and Joshua Giese; step-daughter, Heidi (Chris) Schaum; eight grandchildren, Amber (Sean), Taylor, Jacey, Patrick, Shane, Kylie, Zach, and Daisy; two great-grandchildren, Oaklyn and Myla; siblings, Jack (Joyce) Ascheman, Bill (Patsy) Ascheman, Sue (Ron) Wevley, Larry (Peggy) Ascheman, and Jim (Barb) Ascheman; brothers-in-law, Alan Greiner and Dan Eystad; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Ascheman; stepmother, Liz Ascheman; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Emil and Arlene Greiner; sisters-in-law, Lynette Eystad and Kathy Greiner.
The Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of the arrangements for Mary.
