Mary Daisy Johnson, 90, of Jackson Township, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on December 27, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1935 to the late George R. and Minnie Lee {Story} Claborn.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years Gerald "Jerry" Johnson, grandson Joseph Loftis, and 10 of her siblings.
Mary is survived by her loving children Mary Lee (Dewayne) Trammell, Susan (Dan) Dull, Lori (Bobby) Lockhart, Greg (Dawn) Primerano; step-daughters Cheryl Cain and Debbie Crow; 5 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister Linda Sisco; many nieces, nephews and their families; dear friends Caren and Bob Cole.
Mary worked as a waitress at The Western Drive-In in downtown Akron, and then at Amoco Chemicals of Stow, before focusing on raising her family. She enjoyed working in the yard, weeding, playing SkipBo, and especially doing the daily jumble with her husband, Jerry. Mary's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a longtime member of Springfield Assembly of God.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Springfield Assembly of God, 1551 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312 on Friday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Schroeter officiating.
