Mary Jane Beauregard Lanier, resident of Ponchatoula, LA since Katrina, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. She was 79 years old. She was born on Friday, February 22, 1946, in Algiers, LA and was a graduate of Martin Behrman High School in 1963.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Lanier Walther (Paul), her grandson Dr. Jonathan Walther, her son John Lanier, Jr. (Cheri), her granddaughter Erin Lanier and grandson John Lanier III. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia Beauregard Bennett, Stanley Richard Beauregard (Linda), Sidney Paul Cushing (Yvette), A.J. Cushing (Shelly), Keith Cushing, and Chris Cushing. Also, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Felix Lanier, to whom she was married for many years; her parents Theodore Nicholas Beauregard and Ida Claire Hartmann Beauregard; her brothers and sisters-in-law Warren James Beauregard (Carolyn Brechtel), Gerald Joseph Beauregard (Mary Finn); her sister-in-law Carolyn Cushing; her favorite brother-in-law Ronald Bennett; and her grandson John David Lanier.

Special thanks and appreciation to friends Dorenda Dupont and Carolyn Adams; brother and executor A.J.; brother and caregiver Keith; and nephew and handyman Richard. The family is also deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by all home health and hospice caregivers.

In keeping with Mary's wishes, no services will be held. Her ashes will be interred at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056.
