Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Patron of the Arts.

Mary Patricia Linkowski, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Friday, June 13, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.  She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 2, 1941 to her late mother, Rosemary Millar Hudson, and her late stepfather, Ross Hudson

Pat, as she was known to all, was raised by two strong women and grew up in an apartment that she shared with her mother and her late maternal grandmother, Lucy Withum Millar in the shadow of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh, PA.  Pat spent her childhood in the pews of St. Paul’s listening to her mother sing in the choir.   A passion for music, the arts and her ardent faith filled her soul and influenced her entire life.

In 1959, Pat worked at the PX at Ft. Hood in Kileen, Texas where she met a young, handsome Lieutenant named Steve Linkowski, a fellow Pittsburgher!   Their connection was immediate and they married 7 months later.   They had their first two children while living in Texas, but one day, they packed up the car and traveled 24 hours to come back to the ‘burgh. According to Pat, she and Steve “rounded out” their family by having 7 kids in 8 ½ years!!

After Steve’s untimely death in 1983, Pat continued to raise her young family but, ever resourceful, resilient and gritty, she also embarked on several careers.   She was a natural salesperson and became a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant, earning “Regional Queen” honors and driving the renowned pink car.   She tapped into her style, flare and fashion by helping young brides find the perfect dress as she worked at Bridal Beginnings.  Her innate entrepreneurial spirit drove her to start an auto body shop, DeMare Auto, where she expertly spray painted and “buffered” cars, and finally, taking her back to one of her true passions, she became the owner and operator of the Renaissance Art gallery with her second husband, L. William Jander.

She knows she is going to heaven and will be reunited with her beloved Steve, her brother, Rick, and her parents, Ross and Rosemary Hudson.   She is survived by her children, Steve Linkowski, Mary Warmbein, Jeff (Suellen) Linkowski, Anita (Frank) Schuler, Jamie (Diane) Linkowski, Robert (Andrea) Linkowski, Lucy (Kevin) Kolar, her two stepchildren, Justina (Michael) Perrot and William (Mindy) Jander Jr. and her two brothers, Mike (Karen Brehm) Hudson and Tim Hudson. She was a proud grandmother to 27, and joyful great-grandmother to 19. “Mimi” truly cherished Stephanie and Yiyu Zhao, Steve Linkowski, Scott and Rachael Linkowski, Samantha and Michael Genello, Alyssa and Robert Mounts, Kathrine and Morgan Miller, Chad and Dana Warmbein, Garrett (Alison) Warmbein, Dana and Michael Mackey, Daniel and Taryn Babb, Jordan and Hayleigh Linkowski, Jillian Linkowski, Noah and Caitlyn Schuler, Chloe (Dan) Schuler, Tyler (Diana) Linkowski, Kristin and Liam Moore, Nicole Linkowski, Lauren Linkowski, Mark (Katie) Linkowski, Paul (Kelly) Linkowski, Nicholas Linkowski, Victoria Kolar, Jacob and Sarah Kolar, Rachel Kolar and Sophia Kolar. As they all got older, each one of them came to laud her adventurous spirit and fondly remembered how she would surprise them by showing up on her Harley Davidson from time to time. Mimi was no less doting on Reagen and Ellen Perrot.

Mimi always beamed when she would boast about her 19 great grandchildren: Elizabeth Zhao, Mason Linkowski, Landon Linkowski, Jane Genello, Michael Genello, Molly Mounts, Henry Mounts, Max Miller, Owen Miller, Wyatt Miller, Grace Warmbein, Tate Warmbein, Jackson Mackey, Ella Mackey, Greta Mackey, Lilah Japalucci, Aiden Japalucci, Cameron Linkowski and Cooper Linkowski. Mimi espoused love and tradition and valued family. In her final days, she was delighted to learn that Kristin (Liam) will be adding yet another one to her enormous brood.

A natural performer and radiant presence, Pat not only brought joy to a conversation but also song, light, and laughter into every room she entered. She will be deeply missed by her family and forever remembered by those that were fortunate to know her.

Friends and family will be received at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott  Twp. PA 15220 on Monday, June 16, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 17, at 9:30 AM at St. Anne Church, St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Castle Shannon, PA.   In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities or UPMC Family Hospice.
