Mary Lomonoco Obituary

Lomonoco, Mary T.
NISKAYUNA - Mary T. Lomonoco (Holligan), 76, wife of the late Anthony V. Lomonoco, of Niskayuna, N.Y., passed away peacefully, March 3, 2026, at St Peter's Hospice Inn. In her final days, she was surrounded by the love of her family as she prepared for her journey to heaven. Her beloved daughter remained by her side, holding her hand as Mary peacefully gained her angel wings.
Born July 26, 1949, in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Marjorie (Walsh) Holligan.
Mary attended Cardinal McCloskey High School, and later pursued vocational training in stenography. She went on to work as a U.S. Federal Court stenographer in Albany, N.Y., where she dedicated many years of service.
Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law and friend, who found great joy in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed gardening, cooking large meals for her family, celebrating holidays and birthdays, taking trips to the casino, bird watching, and traveling with family and friends. One of Mary's favorite places to be was the beach, where she loved sitting with a cup of coffee and listening to the calming sound of the ocean waves.
Mary's greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother. She was deeply involved in her grandchildren's lives, and cherished every moment spent with them. From special "Grammy overnights," to Jeep concerts while waiting for the bus, family trips, and the countless hours she spent cheering from the sidelines at their soccer, basketball, and softball games, Mary was never happier than when she was with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Anthony, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph (Joey).
Mary is survived by her daughter, Christine Baumann (David- "her favorite and best son-in-law ever"), of Colonie, N.Y.; and her beloved grandchildren, Anthony D. Baumann and Gabrielle R. Baumann, Colonie N.Y.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, N.Y. 12205, or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, T2T.org

I told Mary that I liked her the moment I first saw her (at work), and we have been close friends ever since - like 40+ yrs. We had good travels together, shared a lot of meals, had hundreds of hours on the phone, and her favorite thing was to talk about her Grandchildren. She was a good part of my life and I will miss her deeply...
