Mary M. M. Fawcett

Mary M. Cirelli/Fawcett, born on July 4, 1939, in a coal-mining family, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025. Celebrating a life rich in love, service, and community, Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, a dedicated public servant, and a cherished friend to many.
Mary embodied the spirit of the American Dream; she was a fierce patriot who took pride in her journey. Throughout her life, she served her community as a nurse, state representative, city councilwoman, and county commissioner, always advocating for those around her. Her passion extended beyond politics; she was a world-class cook, master gardener, and a member of the Ex-Newsboys Club, bringing warmth and joy to all those who knew her.
Mary's vibrant spirit shone through in her love for gatherings, particularly those infused with the sounds and movements of the Italian Gagliordi dancers, which brought her immense joy.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leona Minarcheck; son, Michael Cirelli; husbands, Sam Cirelli and Richard Fawcett; and brother, Joseph Minarcheck.
She is survived by son, Donald Cirelli; grandsons, Ryan, Sam, and Marcus; sister, Anna Marie Eberts; great-granddaughter, Cleo Michael; and beloved cat, Einstein.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday March 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel (705 Raff Rd SW Canton, OH 44710) with Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara officiating. Calling hours and visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the same day of service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
