Mary Susan (Konsko) Mahon
Age 91 of Coopers Plains was born December 15, 1931 in Palmerton, PA, the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Gregor) Konsko; she passed peacefully on Saturday, July 15th 2023. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister Helen Morris; brother John Konsko; and her loving husband, Donald J. Mahon in 2021.
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Gregory) Behm of Cody, WY, and Mary M. Carrigan of Horseheads, NY; her grandchildren Major Christopher (Ashley), Nicholas (Aubree), and Joshua Behm, Ellen (Tyler) Kent, Braxton (Suzette) Hill, and Jordan Hill; 9 great grandchildren Remmington, Arabelle, and Liberty Behm, Harvey and Isaac Kent, Adellae, Camilla, and Griffin Hill, and Matthew Behm.
In her own words, Mary has been blessed to be raised by her wonderful parents, marry her high school sweetheart, raise their family while sharing careers, and be privileged to grow old together.
Mary graduated from Mansfield University, then State Teacher's College, with a Bachelor's in Home Economics; later earning her Master's in Early Childhood Education from Elmira College. She spent her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher with the Savona and Corning-Painted Post School Districts.
Following her wishes, there will be no public services. Her family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Brookdale and Absolute Care at Three Rivers, in Painted Post, NY, for the kindness and care given to Mary. Those wishing may honor her memory with a donation to Corning Meals on Wheels.
