Funeral services for Mary Margaret Simmons Malbrough will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura on Saturday, January 11,2025, beginning at 11:00am. Visitation will also be held that morning from 8:00am until service.
Mary Margaret Simmons Malbrough was born on January 12, 1953, in Mansura to Mr. Alfred Simmons and Mrs. Alzica Prier James of Mansura, where she was later raised and lived. She departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 71 in Marksville where she resided until her death. She died at St Frances Cabrini Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carol Malbrough; son, Robert Malbrough; son, Michael Malbrough; daughter, America Malbrough; mother, Alzica Prier James; father, Alfred Simmons; stepfather, Leroy James; brothers, Nicholas James; Phillip “Bear” Simmons; David Bruce Simmons Sr, Walter James, Sr., and Milton Simmons; sisters, Doreatha Simmons Boyer; Cecilia James Holmes, and Mary Lee; Olivia Simmons Eggins; and her grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Donna Malbrough (Clifton) Rash of Pooler Georgia and Rachel Malbrough of Marksville, her granddaughters, Tatjuana Phillips of Atlanta; Roshanna Rash of Georgia; Tyneshaye Malbrough of Marksville; Tyqweshaye Malbrough; her grandsons, Joshua Rash of Georgia; & Ty'Kwan Malbrough of Marksville; and her grandbabies; brothers, Vincent Simmons of New York; Alfred Payne, Sr. of Alexandria; eight sisters, Della Simmons of Shreveport, Cecile Laverne Prier of Houston, Texas, Winifred James of Baton Rouge, Hattie James of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Judy James of Mansura, Cora Payne Mills of Alexandria, Pearly Payne of Alexandria, and Roxie Payne of Alexandria; aunts; uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
