Mary V. Marinelli, 99, of Dover, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024 in Park Village Healthcare Center at Dover.
Born June 19, 1925 in Lisbon, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary R. (Vichone) Battalio.
After completing her formal education, Mary was united in marriage with her late husband, Louis J. Marinelli.
She served at Palmer’s Dairy Bar for 31 years, before joining the former Michael’s Restaurant where she worked in the kitchen prior to retirement.
Mary loved to shop, especially for shoes and clothing. But, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary will be deeply missed by her family including her children, Karen (Taylor) Graeff of Dover and Pamela (Steve) Gazdik of Lordstown, O.; grandchildren, Leslie (Dan Hughes) Kissinger, Morgan (Matt) Graham, and Kim (Bill) Patterson; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Angie Festi of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Louis “Cook” Marinelli; grandson, Travis Marinelli; and siblings, Helen Smith, Rose (Frank) Chini, Phyllis (Don) Garner, Lena Callahan, Josephine Batcha, Al C. Battalio, Tom Battalio, and Tony Battalio
Father Jeff Coning will lead a funeral service for Mary on Monday, October 21, 2024 beginning at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow alongside her husband in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
