Mary Mataczynski

Mary P. Mataczynski, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026.

Beloved daughter of Bernadette and the late James Reed, Mary was a devoted sister to Loretta Reed (the late Larry Sowinski) and Catherine (Moe) Breen. She was a cherished aunt to Angela, Bernadette, Andrew, Catrina and Carter, and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her gentle spirit.

Mary earned her Master's Degree in Accounting from Walsh College and dedicated her life to serving others with kindness and compassion. She was known for her generous heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. Mary generously volunteered with many organizations and faithfully taught Religious Education at St. Faustina Catholic Church, where she shared her deep faith and love of learning with countless students over the years.

She found joy in sewing and traveling the world, embracing new experiences and cultures with enthusiasm. Her most recent journey to Italy was especially meaningful, reflecting her love of history, beauty and adventure.

Mary will be remembered for her warm nature, her giving spirit and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her presence brought comfort and encouragement to many, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her.

Mary will lie in state on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 12 Mile Road, Warren.
