Mary Jane McCarthy, 80, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 2:27 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Memorial Hospital. Mary Jane was born on July 3, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana to Anthony "Tony" Molnar, Jr. and Violet (Ladewski) Molnar. She retired on June 2015 from Dr. Gerald K. Glass and Dr. Paul B. Glass, D.D.S.P.C. She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Marie (Walter VanMeter) McCarthy of Rochester, Indiana and Lynn Ann (Robert Raker) McCarthy of South Bend, Indiana; two grandchildren Jacob Robert Wargo and Emily Kristine (Aaron) Buis; two great-grandchildren, Presley Wargo and Vincent Buis; her sister, Nancy Ann (James) Michalski of South Bend, Indiana and three nephews Kevin Michalski, Todd Schmeltz and Christian Orphanidis. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her former husband, James. R. McCarthy on October 10, 2024. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, where a rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Mary Jane graduated from St. Stanislaus Grade School. She was a 1963 graduate of South Bend Central High School and received her Dental Assistant Degree from Indiana University South Bend. She enjoyed shopping, especially for antiques. She loved Cokes from McDonalds. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Memorial Contributions should be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We love you and will miss you! I will cherish you calling me to sing "The Turkey Song" on Thanksgiving. I always will think of you when I get a coke from McDonald´s. Rest in peace sweet Mary Jane! Lots of love to the family!
