Mary Anne McGinness of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on April 7, 2025. She was born at Lakewood Hospital on September 13, 1953, to John R. and Anna M. McGinness (Holmes), who predeceased her. She is survived by her brothers John Jr. and Thomas Gerard, several nieces Sarah King (Paul), Briana, Alexandra Berni (John), Carissa and nephews Christopher (Kristen), Eric (Bailee) and their children Allison, Margaret, Miles, and the many friends that she made throughout her life.
Mary Anne had a gift for friendship and, remarkably, maintained relationships with friends from grade school at St. Clement's (Lakewood), John Carroll University, and many others. She loved all animals, including her cat, Al, who never sat on anyone's lap, ever. Instead of flowers, please consider donating to the animal shelter of your choice.
Services at Saint Clement Church in Lakewood on April 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM with viewing in the church one hour prior to services.

I have known Mary Anne McGinness since we were three or four years old. She was a gentle soul and grew into a gracious woman. As we aged we were in and out of each other´s lives depending upon the circumstances of our individual lives. The picture attached to her Obituary shows her as a serene, radiant woman. I feel sad I didn´t get to see her for such a long time. She loved her family and her dogs deeply. May her memory be for a blessing.
With much love,
