Mary Annie Mclin, age 88, of Wewahitchka, Florida, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her precious family on Monday, September 15, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1937, in Branford, Florida and spent most of her life in Plant City, Florida until the early 1970's when she relocated to Gulf County.
Mary was a proud lifetime member of the VFW and “The Cooties,” engaging in programs that supported veterans and their families. Her, along with her late husband spent countless hours volunteering for different events for the betterment of people in the community.
Mary's life was enriched by her interests and hobbies. She found joy in gardening, canning the produce she nurtured, and baking fresh pies that delighted her loved ones. Her creativity extended to sewing, with a particular fondness for quilting, which became one of her signature talents. Sundays held a special place in her heart, marked by her ritual of watching the Springfield Community Church on television.
Mary is survived by her children: Wanda Tkacs of Tennessee, Eddie Mclin of Chipley, Florida, and Linda Bice of Wewahitchka, Florida. She is also mourned by her brother, David Bridges (Paulette) of Alabama; two sisters, Isabel Cox and Lillie Wilson, both of Fort Meade, Florida; grandchildren Scott Tracy (Kim) of Tennessee, April Lusk of Bartow, Florida, Maria Perez (Robert) of Auburndale, Florida, Jessica McDaniel (James) of Plant City, Florida, Bobbi Sue Brady of Michigan, Kevin Monk of Panama City, Florida, and Littleman Blackburn( Jackie) of Auburndale, Florida; as well as her 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Jake Bridges and Fannie Touchton Bridges; her husband, Irvin Mclin; her daughter, Sherrie Blackburn; two brothers, Herman Bridges and Elmer Bridges; one sister, Virginia Lee; and one great-great-grandchild, Ryder Sparks.
The visitation for Mary Annie Mclin will be held in the Chapel at Comforter Funeral Home in Port St Joe, Florida, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Eastern Time, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM Eastern Time
Mary’s legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched during her lifetime. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
