Margie McLendon

Margie McLendon of Altha, FL went home to be with Jesus on December 27, 2025. She was born on January 26, 1960, in Wewahitchka, FL to Alex and Mandy McLendon, but she lived in Altha, FL all her life. Margie loved going to church and singing along to those good ole gospel hymns. In her younger years she loved wrestling and would practice on anyone that was close enough and unsuspecting! She especially loved to practice on her cousins, Alan, Randy and Lester as they were getting off the school bus! Margie was loveable, yet feisty! She will be missed by all!

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mandy McLendon; two brothers, James McLendon and Alex McLendon Jr.; four sisters, Josephine Carr, Nancy Foster, Irene Tew, and Kathy McLendon.

Margie is survived by two brothers, Raymond (Betty Lou) McLendon of Altha, FL, and Roger (Anita) McLendon of Altha, FL; three sisters, Shirley Martin of Moultrie, GA, Linda Hunt of Altha, FL, Christine (Cleave) McDaniel of Altha, FL; sister-in-law, Faye McLendon of Blountstown FL, brother-in-law, Gene Foster of Altha, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Margie will be held on Friday January 2, 2025, at the Word of Truth in Blountstown, FL. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM CT and service at 1:00 PM CT. Interment will follow at the McLendon Family Cemetery in Altha. Arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
