Mary Magdelene Moltzan, of Mosinee, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Mary was born in Chicago, Illinois to Gustave and Elisabeth Moltzan on September 14, 1941. Mary was raised from infancy, by her legal guardian, Crescentia Burton, following illness of her mother.
After obtaining her degree in education from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, Mary relocated to Mosinee where she was employed as a teacher for 30+ years. In her retirement, Mary volunteered at the Marathon County Historical Society. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, and other card games, as well as Scrabble, which she delighted in winning.
Mary is survived by her two brothers, Gus (Joan) Moltzan and Herb (Jan) Moltzan, sister-in law, Mary Burton; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Edward Moltzan, and his wife, Rita, and Crescentia and Fred Burton. She was cherished by both families.
Her warmth, strength and kindness will be fondly remembered by all.
