Mary Julia "Judy" Monroe, 70, of Holly Springs, MS, passed away on October 29, 2023 in Holly Springs. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with a service following at 6:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home Olive Branch. Rev. Al Canon will officiate.
Judy was born on November 17, 1952 in Louisville, MS. She loved her family and was a homemaker. She enjoyed having a tan by being poolside and going to the Florida beaches. Judy enjoyed outings to the casino with high hopes of large winnings so she could share with her family. Judy had an eye for fashion and jewelry. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her three daughters, Theresa Whittamore (Doug) of Tulsa, OK, Shannon Chase (Sergio Cruz) of Tulsa and Crystal Hudson (Brandon) of Memphis; son, Curtis Monroe of Memphis; grandchildren, Kassi Simmons, Nicholas Simmons, David Simmons, Joshua Simmons, Jacob Monroe, Jeffery Chase, Zackery Chase, Cody Chase, Destiny McKinley and Brandon Hudson, Jr; sister, Ann Thompson of Olive Branch and her significant other, Ronnie Keith Barnes of Holly Springs. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Gladys Drewery; husband, Charlie Richard Monroe; son, Richard Lee Monroe; brothers, David Drewery, Mike Drewery, Chester Drewery, and Paul Drewery.
In lieu of traditional flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Judy Monroe to the American Heart Association. (www.heart.org)
