Mary Marie Moore, 91, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2024, surrounded by family at home. She was born January 14, 1933, to late parents, Oliver and Marie Kuhn. Mary was happily married 66 years to her high school sweetheart, John. They enjoyed their travels together, including winters in the Florida Keys. They loved having family and friends join them on Duck Key. Mary enjoyed the sports of skiing, tennis and golf.

Mary worked as a secretary for several years when she and John were first married. As the family began to grow, she stopped working outside of the home, and happily took care of her husband, three children and home. She enjoyed summer days spent at Lake Kim Tam with her children. Later in life, she worked with husband John in his business as his secretary.

Mary was one of the original members of the Springfield Township Women’s Club, in which she served for 55 years. She was devoted to the many good works this club performs for the community. A scholarship is being established in her name, The Mary Moore Scholarship, and will be awarded to a graduating senior from Springfield High School.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Beth, Amy (Charlie), and John (Karen); grandchildren, Suzy (Colin), Gregory (Lucy), Grace (Mark), Matt, John (Suzie), Rod (Ken), Anna, and Richie (Tailane); great grandchildren, Max, Zoe, Isobel, Caedmon, Maple, Tallulah, and Cooper. She is preceded in death by her husband John and her parents and her two brothers, Richard and Thomas.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, with visitation from 2 to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Springfield Township Women’s Club at PO Box 92, Lakemore, Ohio 44250.
