Mary E. Moore

Our beloved mother, Mary E. Moore, passed away peacefully on December18 2025 at the age of 88. Mary was born on April 5, 1937, to Mary Shegog Sweargen and L. Kirkwood. Mary accepted Christ at a very early age and joined Mt Zion Baptist Church in Batesville, MS.

Mary was united in matrimony to the late Benjamin W Moore as was blessed with four children: Curtis (Tina), Pamela (Edward), Carolyn and Cheryl (Revell).

Mary will be remembered by her surviving sisters, Bettye (Charles) of Memphis, TN, and Christine of Batesville, MS as well as her two surviving children, Curtis (Tina) of Columbus, OH and Carolyn of Columbus OH and the many grand and great grandchildren.

As the wife of an Army Sergeant, Mary and family were able to travel the country and most of Europe. Upon retirement from the army, the family settled in Columbus, OH and have lived since. Mary and Benjamin were entrepreneurs. They owned several businesses including the Triad Lounge for over 35 years.

While owning and managing Triad, Mary forged many lasting relationships with some multi-generational patrons. Many viewed Mary as mom and will miss her presence and mentorship. Mary was always there to offer love and advice and was willing to provide a helping hand if needed.

Mary will truly be missed.
