Trujillo Family Funeral HomeMary Marlene Norero, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 80. Born on October 10, 1945, Mary lived a life marked by strength, fierce independence, and boundless generosity. She was known for her feisty spirit and her deep devotion to her family.
Mary dedicated many years of her professional life to Presbyterian Hospital, where she served as the Business Office Director until her retirement. Her drive and expertise led her to continue working for many different offices as a consultant after leaving the hospital, always striving for excellence in her field.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mary cultivated a rich personal life centered on creativity and nature. She had a profound love for gardening and caring for her many plants, finding joy and tranquillity in the soil. Her hands were rarely still; she was an avid cook, enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and could often be found engrossed in a word puzzle or, most importantly, reading a good book. Any spare moment she had was treasured and spent with her family and beloved grandchildren. Mary also spent many hours on the phone with her sister Connie and her brother Danny, as well as other family and friends, as she loved keeping in touch and catching up.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Lovato; her father, Joe Lovato; her twin brothers, Johnny and Raymond Lovato; her oldest brother, Joe; his wife, Bobbie Lovato; and her great-grandchild, Adrian Leon De Dios Maestas.
She is survived by her loving family, who will carry her memory in their hearts. Her sons, Phillip Norero (Wife Donna Norero) and Paul Norero (Wife Annamarie Norero), Sister Connie Herrera and brother Danny Lovato (Wife Margaret Lovato) Grandchildren, Tiffany Norero (Fiancé David Romero Sr.), Stephanie Maestas (Husband Adrian Maestas), Paul Norero Jr., Alexis Norero (Fiancé Nathan Kelly), Reanna Norero, and Alec Norero, Great-grandchildren, Jeremy Lucero Jr., Nathaniel Lucero, Scarlett Romero, David Romero Jr., Noah Maestas, Sarah Maestas, Lawrence Norero, Alonzo Norero, Ace Norero, Islah Norero, Aria Kelly, and Alaina Kelly.
