Elaine O'Clair passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. A visitation will be held at Fry-Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22 at 10:00am with a graveside service to follow in Buffalo Gap Cemetery at 12:00pm.

Elaine was born in San Angelo, Texas to T.L. and Clara Pitcox. Growing up, the family moved around a lot so Elaine attended multiple schools. After graduating from high school, Elaine got into dog grooming and after working in the industry for a bit, she started her own dog grooming business named Four Paws.

She then became an administrative assistant to the head of the San Angelo State school.

While on a trail ride at Guitar Ranch, Elaine met Robert O'Clair. After dating for two years, the two were married on February 14, 2004 at the chapel in the Buffalo Gap Historic Village. It was then that she transferred work from the San Angelo State School to the Abilene State School where she finished her 21 year career.

Elaine is best described as "outdoorsy". She could often be found atop a horse riding, tending to (or fussing at) her flower garden, and taking care of her animals. She enjoyed reading and playing guitar and was proud of her self-taught talent. Elaine was a good housekeeper, a great cook, and made the best enchiladas. She fiercely loved her kids and was loyal to her tight circle of friends. She loved the life she had built at home. With the happiness home gave her, she found no reason to travel or want to leave.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband Robert; her sons, Wayne Jackson and Christopher Collier and wife Misty; multiple grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Collier, Wayne Jackson, Larry Pitcox, Willie Marsh, Jim Windham and Sterling Jackson with honorary pallbearer Robert O'Clair.
