Mary A. O’Neil, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at Morton Hospital, on November 6, 2025, at the age of 100.
She was the wife of the late Joseph H. O’Neil.
Born in Newton, Ma, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Daly) Curtis.
Mary was a loving mom and enjoyed being with family and friends. She looked forward to her bowling league night and watching the Red Sox games. She enjoyed sitting around the table with us reminiscing about childhood memories.
She was a very strong and resourceful woman loved and respected by all.
She is survived by her children; Kevin J. O’Neil, Dennis M. O’Neil, Joseph H. O’Neil and wife Susan, Mark J. O’Neil and wife Mary, Brian W. O’Neil and wife Janice, Judith M. (O’Neil) Garner and husband Steve; siblings; Eleanor (Curtis) Donovan, grandchildren; Steven O’Neil, Megan O’Neil, Jake O’Neil, AJ O’Neil, Michelle O’Neil, Jonathan O’Neil, Jeffrey O’Neil, Danielle O’Neil, Michael O’Neil, Ethan O’Neil , Jami Garner, great-grandchildren; CJ, Chloe, great-great grandchild Elijah Bruce, sister-in-law of Jean Curtis, mother-in-law of Stacey O’Neil, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Steven O’Neil, James O’Neil, sister of the late Francis Curtis, Albert (Al) Curtis, John Curtis, Celia (Curtis) Drown, Theresa (Curtis) McFadden, William ( Billie) Curtis, sister-in-law of the late Russell Drown, Dottie Curtis, Eddie McFadden, Eddie Donovan, Alice Curtis and the grandmother of the late Brendan O’Neil and Jodi Collins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 10:30 am in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes 270 Elliot Street, Newton 02464. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church 10-10:15 am.
Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery 57 Wellesley Avenue, Needham.
