Mary Ellen O'Quinn

Mary Ellen Ledoux O'Quinn, 86, of Carlyss, passed from this life on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the presence of her family. Mary was a lifelong Carlyss resident and a 1957 graduate of Sulphur High School. She was employed by Gibson/Sel-Mart as a head cashier for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed crocheting, doing crosswords, word search and reading. Her favorite pass time, however, was spending time with her family and visiting with friends.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mary are her children, Tammy O'Quinn, Kent O'Quinn, Glen "Bucko" O'Quinn; grandchildren, Amber O'Quinn Bernhardt (Brian), Kade O'Quinn (Dori); 5 great grandchildren, Brylea, Brenna, Wyatt, Kaislyn, Brigden; great great grandchild, Joah; siblings, Norma Shipp, Thomas Ledoux, Stella Upton.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby O'Quinn; son, David O'Quinn; parents, Owen and Inez Robinson Ledoux.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the family caregivers and Tim Foshee for their care and compassion during these trying times.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. The family will receive guest on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and resume on Wednesday from 8 AM until time of the service. Words of comfort for the family may be left at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
