Mary Odell, 92, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston, NY, where she lived for the past four years. She was born on December 5, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late John Murphy and Kathleen Brooker of Marbletown.
She graduated from Kingston High School, and was married at the age of 18 to Robert Tremper. She raised four kids, Gail, Steve, Jack and Diane.
Mary enjoyed camping and boating, almost anything outdoors, travel, good books and late night old movies, collecting cookbooks and trying out new recipes.
She loved cats, painted with watercolors, and had an encyclopedic memory. Her favorite movie was The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.
Mary is survived by her step daughter Carolyn Odell Durnin, daughter Diane Hasbrouck Longhi of Kingston, son Steve Tremper of South Carolina, and six grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brother Chris Murphy, her daughter Gail Tremper Whitaker, her son Jack Tremper, her husband of 35 years, Robert Tremper of Ulster Park, and her husband of 31 years Ken Odell of Hurley.
