Mary Jean (Christian-Soll) Osterhout went to be with Jesus peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 21, 1947, to the late Guy Christian & Bertha Robertshaw. Mary was a graduate of EFA & also attended Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, RI. Mary married the late Rev. Dale Osterhout on June 28, 1969. He predeceased her on January 10, 2016.
They had 47 beautiful years together. In addition, Mary was predeceased by her daughter's, Karen (10/18/21) & Chrissy (10/14/22). If you knew Mary, you were apart of her family. She shined like Jesus & she was there to tell you about him! She loved her church family, The Love Church, where she was also a Pastor. She wore many hats servicing her community in nursing assistant, social work, voting booth worker, and most importantly, caring for her family. Mary is survived by her children, John (Meaghan) Osterhout, Shannon Osterhout, Heather Flynn, J'zarion, her spiritual daughter Jeanann. Her grandchildren, Caleb, Isaia, Brooklin, Helaina, Seann, Olivia, Gabe, Bryce, Kenleigh & Azlynn. She had many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great grandson Indigo & one due in July. Her kindness & compassion touched countless lives.
Mary J. Osterhout’s life was a testament to the power of faith and service. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of her children, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date. Those wishing, may remember Mary through donation to, The Love Church Ministery, 3136 Lake Rd Horseheads NY 14845.
