Mary Margaret Ouellette, age 91, of the Irish Hills, formerly of Dearborn and Milan, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025 with her family at her side. Mary was born on August 6, 1934 in Galway City, Ireland. She was the eldest child of John and Kathleen Mulkerrin. On May 13, 1952, at the age of 18, Mary boarded a ship to America so that she could earn money to send home to her family. On October 13, 1956, she married the man with whom she would share a lifetime of love, Charles Ouellette, at St. Gregory's Church in Detroit. Chuck and Mary lived in Dearborn for many years and moved to Milan in the early 1980's. In the mid 1990's they moved to the Irish Hills where they had previously spent many summers at their cottage on Evans Lake.

Evan's Lake was Mary's favorite place to live. She cherished time spent with family and friends who visited the lake home frequently. Many of the neighbors she had known for several generations. One of her famous traditions was throwing candy out of her second story window for trick or treaters on Halloween. Mary and Chuck were active members of the lake association, dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the lake. Within the last 2 years Mary moved to Linden Square Assisted Living Facility. She continued her special way of developing friendships and special bonds with the staff and residents as she had done in every community she had lived.

Mary and Chuck together were focused on raising their 7 children while also contributing to church and community. Throughout her life, Mary volunteered to serve on youth groups, welcoming committees, Alter Society and participated in many church activities. A proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, she played an important role in establishing the An Gorta Mór-Potato Famine Memorial at St. Joseph's Shrine. Mary was actively involved in any organization that her children were involved with such as school parent teacher groups and 4H. Above all, Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She consistently put the needs of her family before her own and found her greatest joy in caring for others. Her kindness touched everyone who knew her. She had a gift for listening, offering comfort, and giving thoughtful advice to anyone in need. Mary was loved deeply, and her gentle spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary is survived by her six daughters: Kathy Parenti of Tipton, Ann Yarbrough of Tipton, Julie (Matthew) Giordano of Northville, Marie (Daniel) Bordine of Milan, Michelle (Kurt) Dingman of Mancelona and Christine (Eric) Mann of Milan. Thirteen grandchildren: Robert (Julia) and Steven (Alyssa) Parenti, Matthew (Colleen), Andrew (Gwen), and Scott (Sarah) Yarbrough, Jordan (Russ) Long and Haley (Evan) Lian, John (Nicole) Bordine, Ryan (Leslie) Bordine and Jenna (Derek) Anderson, Shayne (Julia) Dingman, Brandon Dingman, Elizabeth Mann and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Agnes Weise of Troy, MI, and Margaret Gallagher of Westport, Ireland, and brothers Mac Mulkerrin and John (Eileen) Mulkerrin of Ireland. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son John, sisters Kathleen and Norah, and son-in-law Rick.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Friday, November 28th from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
