Mary Jane Parsons, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, in Port Arthur, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on January 6, 1955, in Orange, Texas, she spent nearly her entire life in the southeast Texas area.
She was a devoted wife and mother who lovingly cared for her home and family, and she carried that same passion into her involvement with various organizations. During her adult years, she spent time with the Campfire, PTA, Aggie Moms, and Quilting clubs.
Mary Jane inherited from her father a love of antique cars. She joined her father at various antique car events such as the annual Texas Tour and local antique car club outings and events. Her children enjoyed the countless hours that they helped rebuild, repair, and show the various antique cars he owned.
She was an avid quilter. She enjoyed making the much requested and used quilts for her family members. There were always requests for quilts for new family members and to replace quilt that were well worn. Mary Jane was very active in the Texas PTA (Parent Teachers Association). She held various positions at the local level. She became active in teaching fellow members “how to be” a successful secretary, treasurer, and president of the local organizations. Mary Jane held various positions at the area, district and state level of the Texas PTA. She was involved with the local Aggie Moms club. As a member, she helped organize fundraisers for scholarships and participated in activities at the A&M campus.
Mary Jane leaves behind her devoted husband of 49 years, Fred Parsons of Port Arthur, Texas, her daughter, Julee Rosales and her husband, Jonathan Rosales of Leander, Texas, her son, David Parsons of Spring, Texas. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Nathan and Preston Rosales of Leander, Texas. Mary Jane leaves behind her sister, Patti Patyk and her husband, Mike Patyk, and a brother Frank Wallace and his wife, Suzie. She leaves behind nephews Kevin Wallace, Michael Patyk, and Mathew Patyk.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her cherished parents Frank and Addie Wallace of Orange, Texas.
Mary Jane's life was a celebration of love, service, and commitment to her family. Her memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Melancon Levingston Funeral home , 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, on December 6, 2025. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm.
