Mary Ann Paster

Mary Ann (Mirek) Paster died Easter Sunday, 2024 in Morristown, NJ after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 85 years young.
Mary Ann was born on September 28, 1938, in Chicago, IL, a daughter to the late Marion (LeStarge) and Walter Mirek. She lived in Basking Ridge and Berkeley Heights before moving to Stirling in 1987.
Her corporate career was spent at Prudential Group Insurance as an Administrative Assistant in Morristown, NJ for many years before retiring and working as an administrative assistant to a couple of healthcare practices, with several years spent nannying her twin granddaughters in between.
Mary Ann was an avid reader and she also enjoyed playing Dominoes with her family and Bingo and cards with her friends at Lounsberry. She was a member of The People of Hope, a Catholic community of lay and religious men and women who have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and a call to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through prayer, the renewal of family life, and works of evangelization.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and her sister Barbara Ann Martin. Mary Ann is survived by her two sisters, Lee Ann Cummings and Patricia Ann Werderitsch and by her children Debra and her husband Brian DeWitt of Basking Ridge, NJ (and granddaughters Jamisen and Caroline); Wendy and her husband Gregg Koop of St. Petersburg, FL (grandson John Esposito, wife Grace and great grandson Jackson; granddaughter Elizabeth, granddaughter Annemarie and her husband Jeffrey Sommer and great granddaughter Pia and grandson Joseph); Kurt A. Paster of Livingston, NJ (grandson Matthew and granddaughter Kayla) and Kenneth M. Paster of Hillsborough, NJ.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 4-7:00pm at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 250 Bebout Avenue, Stirling, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Stirling, NJ.
