Mary A. Pence

PETERSTOWN, WV – Mary A. Pence, age 82, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Lindside Healthcare Center in Lindside, WV. Born March 27, 1943, in Princeton, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Preston and Sylvia Marie Wirtz Mann. Mary attended the Seneca Trail Church of Christ. She retired from Celanese after working there for 20 years. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She loved spending time with her family, especially taking the camper to Marlinton and fishing with James. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Mann; and one sister, Janice Belcher.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, James R. Pence; one son, Greg Pence and wife Alisa of Peterstown, WV; one daughter, Lorie Thompson of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Sarah Pence and husband Tristan, Cody Pence, Jared Thompson and wife Brittany, and Nick Thompson and wife Sydney; nine great grandchildren, Torrin Pence, Lilly Pence, Kaity Pence, Reid Thompson, Lane Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Olivia Dunn, Garrin McDaid, and Maddix McDaid; two brothers, Bubby Mann of Princeton, WV, and Larry Mann and wife Elizabeth of Lindside, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
