Mary Frances Provenza, 77, of Clinton Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
She was born October 13, 1947 in Detroit to the late William and Thelma (nee Richardson) Ibianski.
On October 18, 1982, she exchanged vows with her beloved Thomas Provenza, whom she met through mutual friends. Their union was a testament to enduring love, with Mary recalling that she knew within two short months that Tom was the one she wanted to spend her life with, affirming that she "never lived until I met him." They spent 42 wonderful years together until Tom's passing on March 20, 2024. Mary was a huge Detroit sports and University of Michigan fan. She also enjoyed watching Judge Judy. Together, her and Tom, embarked on numerous adventures, sharing a passion for travel that took them to destinations such as Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Las Vegas. Their journey together was enriched by their shared faith, as they attended Hope Lutheran Church, where they found solace and strength in his belief in God.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her son, Michael Anthony (Diane) McCall; grandchildren, Michael (Carmen) Kelly, Christian McCall, and Michaela McCall; great-grandchild, Michael Fuentes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family invites all who knew and loved Mary to join them in honoring her memory. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Mt. Clemens. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2025, preceded by visiting at 9:00 a.m. Deacon John of Hope Lutheran Church will officiate the service.
