Mrs. Mary Frances Reddish, age 76 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born on February 17, 1948 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Grace Presley Owens.
Mrs. Reddish was an devoted member of the Baptist Faith and a active member of Pine Bower Baptist Church. Mary "Frances" Reddish was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She grew up, graduated from Armuchee High School, and made many lifelong friends, most of whom have preceded her in passing. She accepted the hand of John Wayne Reddish in marriage in 1971 and started her family and they built a home of their own. She loved cooking for her family and friends, especially at holidays, when she was always a perfect hostess. She and her husband loved to fish together and often included her children and grandsons on those trips. She kept herself busy with flower beds and gardens, a hobby she enjoyed doing with John. She was a lover of animals, mostly dogs, of which we had plenty. A good portion came as strays, but we had a few with which she absolutely fell in love who lived inside with us. Spunky, Rocky, and Pepe were her favorites. Roscoe was a long-lived stray that protected her. She raised three successful children, two of whom married and gave her three wonderful grandsons and a great-grandson, who were all there until the end. She will be remembered fondly and missed sorely for generations to come.
Mrs. Reddish is survived by her husband, John Wayne Reddish; daughter, Stacey Reddish Bradshaw (Jody); sons, John Christopher Reddish and Anthony Wayne Reddish; sisters, Betty Rowell (Ernie) and Jeannie Hawkins (Leslie); grandchildren, Dillon Reddish (Kelsey), Austin Bradshaw and Jacob Bradshaw; great-grandson, Sutton Reddish. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
Mrs. Reddish is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Presley Owens; and brothers, Robert Owens, James Owens, Claude Owens, Ronnie Owens and Jimmy Owens.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Reddish will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Pine Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.
