Mary L. Richards, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert Richards, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2011.
Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Feeman) Vasile. She was a 1961 graduate of Twin Valley High School. Mary started her career in banking as a teller with Elverson National Bank where she worked for over 20 years. She was a devoted mother to her two children, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed family trips to their second home in Rehoboth and playing the slots.
Mary was of the Catholic faith.
Left to treasure her memory are daughter Nicole L. Henderson (Zach Powers); son Robert L. Richards, II (Teri); and grandchildren: Tyler L., Keara L., and Tanner L. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and her brother, Paul Joseph Vasile.
Services will be held on Friday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Caernarvon Cemetery in Morgantown, PA.
