Mary Russell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. on Jul. 12, 2025.
Mary Jean Russell known as "Jeannie" to all, was
born November 17, 1960, in Denver, Colorado. She
is the beloved daughter of John (1935-2021) & Mary
Russell and sister to Patricia. Jeannie passed on
June 19, 2025 from complications resulting from
metastatic breast cancer.
Jeannie grew up in Parker, Colorado, attended
Northeast Elementary in Parker and graduated
from Douglas County High School in Castle Rock.
After high school, Jeannie continued to live and
work in Douglas County.
Memorable over the years, were Jeannie's creative
talents. She became a certified ceramic teacher
and taught adults. In Addition to teaching ceramics,
Jeannie worked with children in after-school
programs. Jeannie also helped several different
local rock and roll bands with lighting during
their shows in various locations in Colorado.
A volunteer for El Jebel Shrine Circus as a clown's
friend for many years, Jeannie would join the
clowns and entertain the children at the circus.
Jeannie knew her music and movie preferences well.
She loved entertainment and was able to share
interesting facts about many bands and actors.
Jeannie loved to sing and was really good at karaoke.
A love of travel took her to five continents.
Motorcycles were another favorite and Jeannie
belonged to the Douglas County Colorado Harley
Davidson Chapter. She loved the Broncos and she
especially enjoyed playing tricks on her sister!
If you were lucky enough to really know Jeannie,
you knew Jeannie to be a kind and generous soul.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
