Mary Jean Schneider, age 66, of Eagle Lake, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, at Northview and will continue one hour before service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Mary was born, July 24, 1958, to Earl H. and Margaret (Antony) Schmahl in Mankato. She grew up in Madison Lake and graduated from Mankato East High School in 1976. Mary married Donald “Don” Schneider and together they had two sons, Adam and Jack.
Mary worked for Midwest Electric, GTO in St. Peter, and was a secretary for Mankato East and West Schools.
Mary enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, gardening, woodworking, kayaking, camping, and spending time with her loved ones.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Adam Schneider (Kristin Tews) of Mankato and Jack Schneider (Jessica Schisel) of Mankato; mother, Margaret Schmahl of Madison Lake; sisters, Lois (Mark) Barbknecht of Janesville, Beverly (Dale) Jewison of Janesville, Barb (Brian) Macrafic of Madison Lake, Christine (David) Baynes of Madison Lake; brothers, Chuck (Janet) Schmahl of Mankato, John Schmahl (Lisa Gollon) of Minnetonka, Garett (Marlene) Schmahl of Elysian; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fr. Robert Schneider of Madison Lake, Sister Jane Schneider OSF of Alliance, NE, Mary DeFranco (Bobby Orlando) of Peonea, CO, Dave Schneider of Montrose, CO, Jim Schneider of Durango, CO, and Pat (Bernie) Paulson of Eagle Lake; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Don on December 9, 2022; father, Earl Schmahl; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Kathryn Schneider; and sister-in-law, Julie Schneider.
