Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Sohler, age 85, of Eagle Lake, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, with her family by her side.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., June 26, 2025, at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, North Mankato, MN. Visitation 5-8 p.m., June 25, at Northview and will continue one hour before the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato, MN.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Loyola Catholic School or the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, MN.
Elizabeth Ann was born June 26, 1939, to Arthur J. and Anna (Goettl) Hiniker in Mankato. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1957. Betty was active in 4-H in her younger years. Betty was united in marriage to James A. Sohler on August 9, 1960, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Betty was a homemaker and active with the family farm. She was employed at various companies including, Dalton Motors, Warehouse Market, ISJ Hospital as an aide in physical therapy, River Hills Mall, and McDonald’s.
Betty was active volunteering for area organizations.
Betty enjoyed sewing, walking and hiking, reading, traveling, visiting with friends and time with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Sohler; daughter, Sharon Karstens; two grandchildren, Jessica Andrews (Erik Schwalb) and Nicholas Karstens; four great-grandchildren, Haley and Lucas Andrews, Corbin and Grayson Schwalb; two sisters, Rose (Don) Landsteiner and Dolores “Dee” (Dean) Pietsch; aunt, Mary Ann Kelly; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Charlotte Hiniker; nephew, Bradley; and stepmother, Grace.
Betty’s family would like to thank the staff of Pathstone Living for the love and care they showed to Betty.
