Mary Alice Selner, 85, of Ashwaubenon, passed away on May 23, 2025 at Woodside Lutheran Home. She was born on February 3, 1940 to Fred and Helen (Marquardt) Stummeier in Green Bay, WI.
Mary graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 1958. She then attended Green Bay Vocational School for Bookkeeping. She worked as a bookkeeper before she got married to Donald F. Selner on August 26, 1961. After her children started school, she worked for the Ashwaubenon School District in Food Service. She worked there for about 15 years until retiring in 1989. After retirement, Mary started her own business, Mary's Originals, where she hand sewed Victorian lampshades. Mary was proud to volunteer for the Ashwaubenon Historical Society. She decorated and opened her home for Christmas Walks for charity.
Mary was an incredible homemaker; she had many passions, including decorating, cooking, gardening, and making everyone feel welcome. Mary was a field editor for Taste of Home magazine and had several recipes published. Mary's greatest love in life was her family. When Mary's children were younger, she took them on many camping trips and adventures. She always attended her children and grandchildren's activities and sports games. She was a fan of the Packers and the Brewers.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald; her children: Bill (Lisa) Selner, Bob (Sandy) Selner, Becky (Brian) Aubrey, Ben (Linda) Selner; grandchildren: Ryan (Marissa), Keith (Alexa), Greg (Hillary), Casey (Rachel), Becca (Will), Brady (Allie), Danielle (David), Kristen (Nick), Tanner, Josie, Brandon (Elizabeth), Brent (Courtney), Bryan; great-grandchildren: Maddie, Keon, Shay, Annie, Watson, Adia, Lila, Margo, Greta, Whitley, Eli, Cora, Ellie, Benji, Sophie, Benson, Boston, Broden, Brooklyn, and baby Rhett on the way; her sister, Jeanie; and a sister-in-law, Sally. Mary is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Don; and her in-laws.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. A Funeral Ceremony will follow immediately at 4:00 pm.
