Mary Joan (Macy) Smith, 86, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Granbury. She was born on September 29, 1938, in Cleburne, Texas to J. H. and Irene Macy.
She married M. B. Smith, Jr. on November 26, 1964. He preceded her in death March 25, 2022. Her father preceded her in death in 1987 and her mother in 1997.
Joan was a schoolteacher in the Joshua ISD and then in the Granbury ISD for years.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Smith; niece, Melody Foster; nephews J. B. Baccus, Eugene Baccus, Garry Baccus, Jerry Owens, Ricky Baccus, and Randall Baccus; cousin, Freda White as well as several great nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6-7pm. Friday, August 8th, 2025, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm. on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, in Wiley Funeral Home Chapel of Granbury with committal services following at Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury.
In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Joan Smith to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Masonic Children's Home in Fort Worth or to the Baker Baptist Church in Weatherford.
