Of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love both near and far on September 14, 2025.
Wife of the late Stephen J. Stoddard.
Beloved mother of Sean and his wife Jen Stoddard of Ellsworth, Maine, and Erica and her husband Eliot Barnhart of Quincy.
Daughter of Mary (Archambault) McDonnell of Dorchester, the late James McDonnell and Helen (Brennan) McDonnell.
Loving sister of Cathy McDonnell of Rockland, Nora McDonnell, Eileen McDonnell, James and his wife Claire McDonnell, John and his wife Kerry O. McDonnell, and Patrick and his wife Carolanne McDonnell, all of Dorchester.
Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary K.’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester, on Friday morning, September 19th, at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Mary K. was a proud graduate of Girl’s Latin, Class of 1976. She was a retired special education teacher for the Boston Public Schools for over 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary K.’s memory may be made to The Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org.
