Mary Elizabeth Stone, 83, a resident of Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington, Virginia, passed away on November 6, 2025.
The daughter of Robert and Grace Blair Dyer, she was born in Washington, D.C. on March 9, 1942. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Robert "Nicky" Dyer, and her daughter Wendy Frazier. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Donald Stone; her son Don Stone (Dana), son-in-law Jeff Frazier; grandchildren Blair Frazier, Robert Stone (Elizabeth), Andrew Stone, Mary Grace Frazier, and Ashley Frazier; one great grandson, Jackson, and her niece and nephews. She will also be missed by many friends, current and former neighbors, and many other people she encountered while living in Southern Maryland and after retiring to the Northern Neck.
Mary was a lifelong "home maintenance engineer" who in addition to being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, enjoyed reading, puzzles, "thrifting", traveling with her husband, and entertaining the grandkids. Her special talents included remembering everyone's special occasions, removing any stain imaginable, clothing repairs, taking care of "booboos" and just plain listening.
A small family viewing was held on Saturday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Currie Funeral Home, 116 East Church Street, Kilmarnock. The family would like to thank RWC's Assisted Living staff for all the care and compassion they provided to Mary during her stay there. In lieu of flowers or donations, simply do something nice for someone in her honor.
