Darrell Patrick Stone, 73, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. He was born in Daviess County to the late Albert and Onnora Quinn Stone.
Darrell was proud to be a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Fluor Daniels Corporation as part of the maintenance contract at the Logan Aluminum plant.
He loved being a papaw and time spent with the grandkids. Darrell preferred being outdoors when he could and made many friends in the neighborhood. He enjoyed watching Fox News and NASCAR and grew up with a love for hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn Stone, Bernice Knott and Barbara Morris; and a brother, Glenn Stone.
Mr. Stone is survived by the mother of his son Bryan, Brenda Hale; children, Bethany Stone and Bryan Stone, both of Owensboro; grandchildren, Gracie Puckett, Corbin Hernandez and Jo Hernandez; siblings, Carl Stone (Rosalee) of Galatin, TN, David Stone (Connie) of Terrell, TX, Marvin Stone of Owensboro, Larry Stone of Whitesville, Terry Stone (Jerrie Lynn) of Knottsville, Cathy Horn (Paul) of Owensboro, Veronica Trangas (Rick) of Owensboro, Diane Wilhite of Jeffersonville, IN, Geraldine Keller (George) of Owensboro and Carol Harper (Gary) of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
The service will be at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
